Huawei Mate 9 Pro goes official its the same as Porsche Design

Huawei unveiled the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design only recently. Both devices feature AMOLED screens, Kirin 960 chips, and the second-generation Leica dual-camera setup. The Mate 9 packs a 5.9" flat screen of 1080p resolution, while the Porsche model has a smaller but higher-res 5.5" curved OLED screen of 1440p.

Just a day after the Mate 9 duo premiere we got a confirmation that another Mate 9 model is in the works - the Mate 9 Pro. It was indeed rumored even before the official premiere, but it never appeared on the stage in Munich.

Today, Huawei finally introduces the Huawei Mate 9 Pro and its exactly what the leaks suggested and what the fans hoped for - the Mate 9 Porsche Design without the premium clothing and the exorbitant price tag.

The Mate 9 Pro, as expected, packs a curved 5.5" AMOLED screen of Quad HD resolution. It runs on the same Kirin 960 chip with ei ther 4GB or 6GB RAM, and offers the second-gen Leica dual-camera setup. The phone also puts the fingerprint scanner on the front, just like the Porsche model.

It is yet to be determined whether the Mate 9 Pro has a hybrid dual-SIM/microSD slot or whether it wont take memory cards like its Porsche sibling.

The Mate 9 Pro is currently available for order in China only and there the fans can have it in gold, rose gold, gray, and silver. The price is set at CNY 4,699 ($686) for the 4GB+64GB flavor, which is about $110 more expensive than the regular Mate 9 with 4GB+64GB storage. Mate 9 Pro with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage costs CNY 5,299 or $775, once again $110 up from the Mate 9 with 6GB+128GB option.

There is still no information o n the international availability and pricing, but well keep you in the loop if the situation changes.
