July security patch is now out for Nexus devices

OnePlus and Samsung may have been faster than Google at outing Androids July security update, but the company that makes the OS has now commenced the rollout to supported Nexus devices.

These are the 6P, 5X, 6, 5, 7 (2013 model), 9, and Player. After having applied the update youll be on build version MTC19X for the Nexus 6P, MTC19Z for the 5X, MMB30K or MOB30O for the Nexus 6, MOB30P or MMB30M for the Nexus 7 (2013), and MOB30P for the Nexus 5, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player.

As usual, the over-the-air rollout of this update should conclude in a couple of weeks or so, since Google simply loves taking its time with these things. Thankfully however, the company has made both factory images available for all devices, as well as the OTA files that you can use if youre impatient and need to manually install the new release as soon as possible.

Patent reveals LG is working on a transparent foldable display

The display industry has been pushing forward relentlessly and it is because of that we can enjoy things like high-performance OLED technology and curved panels, among other things. The latter is a fairly new advancement and represents a major steppingstone toward the ultimate goal of a fully flexible display.

This is hardly a new concept and the race has been on for quite some time now. Traditionally, Samsung and LG have been most actively involved in the endeavor. The former demoed a foldable panel back in 2014 and promised a foldable smartphone by 2015. That, apparently proved to be a bit of an tight deadline, but we are sure R&D is still in full steam.

Around the same time, LG offered a slightly more laid-back roadmap. A newly unearthed patent document might just suggest the 2017 deadline is achievable. Sadly, it provides little info, but early concept renders make one thing clear - LG is not only going for a foldable panel, but a transparent and touch-sensitive one as well.

It appears LG is envisioning a book-shaped device that is capable of folding in on itself. The left half of it appears to be a transparent touchscreen, showing multimedia controls. These will likely control the content on the other half of the panel, which would probably benefit more from being non-transparent, for the sake of quality. Another interesting idea is that, perhaps, the touchscreen on the transparent half will register interaction on both sides.

However, after all that reminiscing, a quick reality check is in order. Best case scenario, we are still a good year or so away from seeing such tech in end-user devices. Still, it is always encouraging to see that the technology is there and it is coming.

TWRP Recovery
Before Installing the Custom ROM on your device. You have to flash custom recovery TWRP Touch Recovery on your Moto G4/G4 Plus. If you are already using Custom Recovery Go to next flash step otherwise, please use this tutorial to flash TWRP Recovery on your Moto G4 Plus.

How to flash LineageOS Nougat G4 Plus

1. First, You have to download requirements material for the device from the end of the post. 
2. Download Pico Gapps for Nougat from here and Choose ARM -> Android 7.1 -> Pico.
3. Now, From your PC copy ROM and GApps zip files and paste it in your g4 internal storage using data cable/ or using wireless application for example: Share-it/ Super Beam.
4. Unplug your device from PC and Turn off it.
5. Reboot into recovery mode by using the Power + Volume Down button.
6. Select Wipe > Advance Wipe > che ck the data, dalvik cache, catch, system and swipe to wipe it.
   
7. Tap Install and find the ROM zip file and flash it
8. Similarly, flash GApps on your device.
9. After flashing, you should format old files from in the TWRP.
10. Go back and select Wipe > Advance Wipe > check the data, dalvik cache, data, internal storage (optional).
11. Now, finally Reboot your device.

Analysts predict the iPhone 8 wont be the supercycle the iPhone 6 was

A trio of analysts from Deutsche Bank claims that the iPhone 8 won’t be able to break the companys sales records due to the absence of factors that were present leading up to the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

With smartphones now powerful and marginally improving between the latest releases and folks holding onto their smartphones longer, Deutsche Bank can’t see how the iPhone 8 could possibly make the sales that Wall Street is predicting.

Particularly with a rumored starting price over $1,000, it’s quite hard to believe that another price hike this significant could also result in an increase of demand. Currently, Deutsche Bank is convinced Apple will barely reach the 230 million units in the first fiscal year after the announcement.
